Riverside launches four AI agents to prep, edit, clip and publish videos

The podcast and video recording platform adds a virtual producer, editor, clipper and marketer, included in all its plans. Nothing is published without approval.

Riverside, a remote recording platform used for podcasts and talking-head videos, launched Riverside Agents on October 26: a team of four specialized AI agents, rolling out on web and iOS.

Four roles, one production line

  • Producer preps the session (questions, script, studio) and assists during recording.
  • Editor builds an editing plan for the full episode and carries it out with the user: pacing, audio cleanup, layouts, captions.
  • Clipper spots the moments worth sharing and prepares them for social media.
  • Marketer writes captions and show notes, then publishes or schedules the content.

The principle put forward is the handoff: as soon as recording ends, the editor prepares an editing plan and the clipper suggests highlights, without the user having to pass work from one tool to another. Riverside says the agents remember each user’s preferences over time.

Pricing and safeguards

The agents are included in every Riverside plan, with a 14-day free trial; what they can do depends on the plan. Features that run on AI credits, such as video enhancement, still use them when an agent applies them. Riverside states that nothing is published without approval: the agents draft, the user signs off.

What changes, and what remains to be seen

AI in video editing is not new: removing pauses and filler words or cutting clips automatically were already part of Riverside’s tools. The novelty is end-to-end orchestration, from prep to publishing. Riverside, however, gives no details on the models used, described as “proprietary AI”, and no independent test of the quality of the edits is available yet.

Our take

For a solo creator who records every week, automating the whole chain can save hours, and mandatory approval before publishing is a good reflex. The real value will depend on the agents’ editorial taste: a bad clip choice costs more than a slow edit. Worth testing on your own recordings during the free trial.
